Objective
For the university course “Informations- & Editorial Design,” the aim is to explore, examine, and apply typography and information design from an editorial perspective. The goal is to develop meaningful information narratives for today’s information society by investigating pages as dynamic objects that convey information. Key aspects include methods of information organization, hierarchy, comparison, and relationships within the context of a page. Additional focus is on readability, decipherability, and usability of typography, fostering creative thinking and visual experimentation to respond to design challenges in a publication context.
Project: The Movie Magazine
I chose the movie “The French Dispatch” by Wes Anderson and created a movie magazine for it. This involved generating data visualizations and using editorial design to create the magazine. The colors used represent each story from the movie. I selected appropriate fonts, analyzed the movie, and incorporated text from interviews and articles.
